About

Every year, the Missoula Education Foundation awards MCPS educators funds to develop unique ideas and projects for their classrooms. These projects promote engagement, enhance the student experience, and provide vibrant learning opportunities. To date, MEF has made more than $275,000 in funding available to MCPS teachers.

NOTE: Grant projects are meant to be completed during the 2025/2026 school year.

Grant Cycle

The application period will open February 11th, 2025 and close April 30th, 2025. Awardees will be notified by mid-May. Funds will be available at the beginning of July, 2025.

Eligible Applicants – Current MCPS Early-Literacy – 12th grade educators. Third parties may apply in collaboration with an MCPS educator.

Multiple applications – Educators may submit more than one application for unique, separate projects. All applications will be reviewed on an individual basis.

Stipulations:

  • All projects requesting technology items must have approval from the Director of Technology prior to grant submission.
  • All projects requiring alteration of classroom physical space must have approval from the Director of Operations/Maintenance prior to grant submission.
  • All project requests must have principal approval prior to grant submission.

Awardees who terminate employment with MCPS prior to utilizing the awarded funds, or who terminate employment prior to the fiscal year for which funds are awarded shall not receive grant funds. An educator who moves positions within MCPS prior to using funds must submit an amended proposal prior to awarding of funds. Awarding of amended proposal funds is at the sole discretion of the MEF Board.
